Who We Are
John Vaughan has over 50 years experience as a lawyer and has lived and worked in Taree and Forster areas for over 40 years. John is experienced in all areas of law. He started his legal career with a general practice that included litigation and court work. Since that time he has developed a practice that primarily involves wills, probate and estates.
“Elder Law” has become the particular focus of John’s practice. He now leads our team in that area of specialty. John is a NSW accredited specialist in wills, probate and estates and with John’s vast experience and accredited specialisation, we guarantee you the best advice and service.
John is keenly interested in, and deals regularly with, problems and issues affecting older people, their families, and people planning for retirement. By way of example, John works to help older people, and their families and loved-ones, to make arrangements with local retirement villages. He regularly speaks to gatherings and professional bodies on various aspects of the needs and experiences of older and retired people. In serving not only legal needs, but also from his attitude of caring, experienced wisdom, and understanding, John often can help with all the problems and pitfalls involved with those important and personal arrangements. John is able to help people with issues relating to powers of attorney and enduring guardianships. He is also experienced in appearing before the Guardianship Tribunal on behalf of clients.
John is ably and enthusiastically supported by the other members of our Elder-law team, who are guided and mentored by him.
John is a committed family man, and a deeply respected local community identity. John has a life-long interest in music, keeping the bass and beat in several local bands. He plays wind instruments with verve and swing, and can be heard harmonising as a foundation member of the “Company of Voices” choir.
